'Most Caring Person': Girl Remembered After Hit By SUV While Riding Bike

SHERIDAN, Colo. (CBS4)- Friends and family gathered to remember an 11-year-old girl who was struck by an SUV while riding her bicycle. Aundrea Plunkett suffered massive internal injuries and died days later.

People say the crash that happened in her neighborhood near Girard Avenue and Zuni Street in Sheridan didn't have to happen. They gathered near where she was struck to remember Aundrea who was struck on May 22.

Nina Wilson lost her little sister three days after Nina turned 13 years old.

"It's been pretty hard but my mom and aunt and all my friends have helped me through it," said Wilson.

She said Aundrea loved to give back, often volunteering with her mom at a local food bank.

"She was the most caring person that I know," said family friend David Jones.

Jones said Aundrea is giving back and living on after several of her organs were donated.

"Aundrea was able to help other kids. And that's the biggest blessing of them all, in this whole tragedy, is that she gets to live on," said Jones.

Ken Wilson said his daughter will live on through the lives she saves.

"There's one person with Aundrea's right kidney in her now,' said Wilson. "I think that's what she would want. Because she's always liked to help people."
