Highest Open Air Pool In Denver Gets Mile High Makeover
DENVER (CBS4)- The Mile High City's highest pool received a makeover on Tuesday. The Warwick Hotel upgraded it's iconic rooftop pool with a new version thanks to a very tall crane.
The new pool was lifted up above 16 stories at the historic hotel located at 18th and Grant.
The old pool shutdown last summer. The pool was state-of-the-art in the 70s and 80s when it was part of the iconic Playboy Club.
Now the hotel is ready for a new adventure.
"We have a crane. It's going to come right over here and just drop it in," said Warwick General Manager Neville Erasmus.
The new pool cost $1 million and once installed will once again claim the title as Denver's highest open air pool. The pool is only for guest use and will be open in July.
The pool is the first phase in a $10 million renovation for the hotel. In October, every room will undergo renovations along with the main corridors and restaurant.
