Beekeeper Captures Bee Swarm In Park Hill

DENVER (CBS4)- A beekeeper captured a bee swarm in a Park Hill neighborhood on Friday afternoon.

The honeybees were spotted off 29th and Ash in Park Hill. So a beekeeper came in and plucked the hundreds of bees from the tree.

"You can let someone know and they'll collect them or they'll eventually find someplace to create their new hive. They're actually splitting from another hive, usually. They're doing what nature has them do," said beekeeper Rick Oldefest.

Oldefest said he and his wife have already collected one hive this spring. The one in Park Hill is their second hive.

Beekeepers encourage people to call the professionals because the bees can be relocated without killing them or harming people.
