Colorado Springs Woman Killed In Crash In Wyoming

EVANSTON, Wyo. (AP) - Authorities say a woman was killed when she was hit by a truck on Interstate 80 east of Evanston.

Sgt. David Wagener with the Wyoming Highway Patrol says 70-year-old Janoah McWinn, of Colorado Springs had pulled her SUV over to the side of the road because of a possible mechanical issue when she was hit by the truck late Monday night. It's unclear if she was inside or outside of the SUV at the time of the crash.

Investigators say the 39-year-old truck driver was preparing to pull over to the shoulder to check on a mechanical issue with his own vehicle. Inattentive driving is believed to have played a role in the crash, which marked the 21st highway fatality in Wyoming this year. There were 48 fatalities by this time last year.
