By Matt Kroschel

ASPEN, Colo. (CBS4)- Fire investigators returned to Buttermilk Mountain on Monday morning to work to determine what sparked the blaze that destroyed a childhood center.

The fire destroyed the iconic Fort Frog children's center at the top of Buttermilk Mountain Ski Area on Sunday. Smoke could be seen for miles according to local residents.

The structure is located about one run to the west of the top of the Tiehack chairlift. The Pitkin County Sheriff's Office told CBS4 that the building was completely destroyed.

Anyone with any information or leads about the fire is asked to contact the Aspen Fire Department at 970-925-5532, the Pitkin County Sheriff's Office at 970-920-5300, or the U.S. Forest Service at 720-990-4346.
