Closures In Metro Area Begin Thursday Night Through Weekend

DENVER (CBS4)- There are some road closures in Denver that will disrupt some travel over the weekend.

At 7 p.m. Thursday, southbound Speer Boulevard will be closed from Champa to Colfax Avenue and 13th Avenue will be closed from Pecos to Osage for RTD light rail repair and maintenance. The closure will stay in place until 4 a.m. Monday. Traffic from Speer Boulevard will be detoured onto Kalamath during the closure.

Also closing at 7 p.m. Thursday, Broadway from Colfax Avenue to 17th so crews can put in new concrete at the Broadway and 16th intersection. That closure will be in place until 5 a.m. Monday.

In addition to the concrete work, crews will also upgrade traffic signals, add ADA compliant ramps and make the intersection substantially more bicycle friendly.
