Denver Police Honor Fellow Officers Killed In Line Of Duty
DENVER (CBS4)- Denver police officers gathered to honor their own during National Police Week on Thursday.
Seventy-two officers were honored at the ceremony at the Denver Police Fallen Officer Memorial in downtown Denver.
Denver Deputy Mayor Don Mares said officers with the Denver Police Department responded to more than 500,000 calls for help last year.
"We can never repay our debt to the officers and their families. We must do what we can to pay tribute to their memory that begins but does not end by gathering here," said one officer.
The U.S. Department of the Interior held its ceremony in Washington, D.C. on Thursday night.
