Flood Advisory For Northern Colorado As Snow Melt Season Begins
GREELEY, Colo. (CBS4)- It's snow melt season and that has the risk of flooding increasing in parts of the state.
In the rural part of Weld County near Greeley, the Poudre River has come up near the banks.
There is a flood advisory in central and west Weld County, Larimer County below 6,000 feet and northeast Weld County through noon on Thursday.
The Poudre River is about 7.2 feet near Greeley and the minor flood stage level is eight feet. CBS4 Meteorologist Justin McHeffey said in the next two days if the river rises another foot or so, some localized flooding could be a concern in those areas.
