DENVER (AP) — Lockheed Martin has awarded Denver Public Schools $800,000 for science, technology, engineering and math education.

The aerospace giant announced the funding Friday. It will pay for programs in up to 100 schools over three years.

The company says the grant will fund the implementation of curricula developed by Project Lead the Way.

The Denver grant is part of $6 million that Lockheed Martin has pledged nationwide to expand Project Lead The Way programs.

Lockheed Martin's Space Systems division is in Littleton.
