1 Lane Of Pena Blvd. Closed On West Terminal Approach

DENVER (CBS4)- A section of Pena Boulevard that splits toward the west terminal entrance at Denver International Airport will be reduced from four lanes to three lanes. There will also be a temporary lane realignment for the project which will last for the next six months.

Crews will replace waterproofing that is part of RTD's A-Line overpass. Denver Transit Partners, RTD's contractor, is performing the work.

Crews will begin lane closures at 6 p.m. on Saturday and will continue through August. Traffic headed toward the east terminal will be required to slow down at the terminal split. Temporary pavement markings and overhead signs will be installed to direct drivers to parking, the hotel at DIA and passenger departures and arrivals.

In early August crews will shift the traffic to the other side of the terminal west road so crews can get to the remaining part of the overpass.

Drivers can expect reduced speed limits in the area of 35 mph and 25 mph. The project is expected to last through late November.
