Drivers Get Extra Second Before Red Light Cameras 'Snap' In Aurora
AURORA, Colo. (CBS4)- Drivers in Aurora will get an extra second before red light cameras snap a picture.
Police are reprogramming the red light cameras to give drivers an extra second to turn left at those intersections.
Currently, drivers have three seconds to get through those turns before they get a ticket. That's how long the yellow left turn arrow is on.
Police will add one second to those yellow arrows because of concerns brought up by the city council.
Aurora has not determined when the longer grace period will be implemented.
