Clear Images Of Burglary Suspect Caught On Video

GOLDEN, Colo. (CBS4) - Police in Golden say a woman was caught on surveillance video stealing from a home. CBS4's Karen Morfitt interviewed the victim who is hoping someone will recognize the thief.

The video is pretty clear and it captures the suspect from multiple angles. It shows the suspect walking into the home and walking out a few minutes later with a load of stolen goods.

"She didn't look like a burglar, she looked like a tourist," victim Lhakpa Sherpa said.

The burglary happened Wednesday morning. The suspect is seen casually strolling around the front of Sherpa's restaurant -- The Sherpa House.

"She is carrying an umbrella; she looked in her 40's, very clear," Sherpa said.

She then rounds a corner and heads right for Sherpa's home.

"We have painters and we have other carpenters working around the building and she didn't even pay attention to them," Sherpa said.

Sherpa says she was inside for just a matter of minutes but took computers, a phone, and a hard drive with important documents for his business.

"When she came she had a little purse hanging...and when she left she actually took a whole backpack full of things from the apartment," he said.

Sherpa hopes someone will recognize the woman. He says he's not worried about the electronics but worries she may have done it before.
