Take Back Day For Unwanted, Expired Prescription Medications

DENVER (CBS4)- Several locations across Colorado will take part in a national drive to dispose of prescription drugs on Saturday.

The Drug Enforcement Administration will work with state and local law enforcement to collect those drugs from 10 a.m. until 2 p.m. on Saturday. Find a location near you.

Colorado will participate in more than 5,000 collection sites across the country to get rid of potentially dangerous, unwanted medicines. The service is free.

The chemicals in the drugs can harm wildlife and the environment if flushed away or thrown in the trash.

The event also helped make sure the drugs don't fall into the wrong hands.
