Aurora Police Need Help In Investigation Of Attempted Sex Assault On Teen

AURORA, Colo. (CBS4) - Police in Aurora would like the public's help in their investigation into an attempted sexual assault on a teen girl in early April.

According to police, around noon on April 7 a 15-year-old girl was walking on the west side of Sable Street when she was approached by a man driving an SUV who asked her how old she was.

"(The) suspect identified himself as 'Chris' and grabbed the victim placing her into the back seat. The suspect got out of front seat and joined victim in back seat after parking at a local business," police said in a statement. "(The) suspect attempted to remove victim's clothing and sexually assault her. Victim struggled with the suspect before opening the back right side door and climbed out."

The suspect returned to the front seat and fled the area.

The suspect was driving a newer model (2016 or maybe 2015) full-sized silver SUV with dark-tinted windows. The SUV didn't have plates but possibly a temporary registration displayed in back window.
