Grass Fire Forces 9 Homes To Evacuate In Colorado Springs

COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. (CBS4) - Nine homes had to be evacuated in Colorado Springs because of a grass fire.

The fire broke out Sunday afternoon at Pulpit Rock Park. Crews contained the fire but were still working hot spots Sunday evening.

Pulpit Rock Park is located east of Interstate 25 between Dublin Boulevard and Austin Bluffs Parkway.

Wind remained a major issue in the evening hours. It was pushing smoke into the Rockrimmon area.

It's not clear how large the fire became.
