Denver Loves 'Games Of Thrones' So Much, Show Throws Official Watch Party

DENVER (CBS4) - Season six of HBO's popular show "Game of Thrones" premiered Sunday evening and a media company ranked Denver as one of the markets with the strongest fan base.

Some fans out on the 16th Street Mall on Sunday took their turn atop the Iron Throne. The replica throne has been outside the Denver Pavilions for the past few days.

There was also a "Game of Thrones" watch party and costume contest Sunday night at Denver's historic Mayan Theater. Denver was one of just a handful of U.S. cities selected for an official watch party.
