LA Rams Running Back Todd Gurley Takes In CSU's 'Green & Gold Game'
FORT COLLINS, Colo. (CBS4) - Spring is in the air, and in Fort Collins on Saturday, that meant football.
The Colorado State Rams held their annual Green and Gold Spring Game at Hughes Stadium, and it included a special Ram appearance.
Los Angeles Rams running back Todd Gurley stopped by the field for a quick appearance. He's a friend of head coach Mike Bobo's from his Georgia Bulldogs days. Former Bulldogs running back Keith Marshall, who's expected to be drafted in the fifth or sixth round in the NFL draft, was also on hand.
The game pitted Bobo's offense against the defense. The coach says he's impressed with the team's motivation, but says there's a lot of room for improvement.
"I'm a firm believer that there are 100 different ways to play offense and play defense, and if your kids believe in what you're doing you've got a chance," Bobo said. "And I believe right now that we're starting to believe what we're doing."
But Bobo said the team still has a long way to go.
"We've got some pieces of the puzzle that got to get here in fall camp. We have some pieces of the puzzle that are on this football team that have got to improve where we can function and play championship-level football," Bobo said.
The Rams open the season in the Rocky Mountain Showdown against the Colorado Buffaloes on Sept. 2 at Mile High Stadium in Denver.
