Jury Finds Man Guilty In Woman's Murder
DENVER (CBS4)- A man accused in the murder of a 30-year-old woman at a Denver motel last summer has been found guilty after a seven day trial.
Brandon Foote was found guilty of first-degree murder after deliberation, first-degree felony murder and first-degree burglary after one day of deliberations by the jury.
On June 25, 2015, officers responded to a report of several shots fired at the Sage and Sand Motel at 8415 East Colfax Avenue. They found the victim a block away suffering from fatal gunshot wounds. Foote was accused of breaking into a motel room where the victim's sister was staying and killing the victim following an altercation.
Foote will be sentenced June 3 in Denver District Court.
Foote's co-defendant Merita Curry-Swanson has been charged with first-degree felony murder and first-degree burglary in connection with the case and is scheduled to go to trial in June.
