Hejduk is the fifth Avs player from the Stanley Cup teams to get the call to the all, joining Sakic, Forsberg, Roy and Foote.

"It's a special honor to be inducted with the previous names, big hockey names and other names in other sports. It's really special," said Colorado Sports Hall of Fame inductee Hejduk.

Colorado Rockies Nolan Arenado was named Colorado's Professional Athlete of the Year.

Stanford star Christian McCaffrey, son of Denver Broncos legend Ed McCaffrey, took home the amateur award.

"When you get noticed for your play, it really is. I look at it as it's definitely a blessing to me but at the end of the day I still have my family, I still have my friends, I still have my teammates and my coaches and that's why I'm here, that's why I play football and don't really play for all the attention but it is a good thing," said McCaffrey.

Former Eaton Baseball coach Jim Danley, High School Athletics administrator and former track star Rhonda Blanford-Green, NBA and ABA star Ralph Simpson and longtime Trinidad State Junior College coach Jim Toupal were all included into the Sports Hall of Fame Class of 2016.
