Troy Tulowitzki Who? Rookie SS Trevor Story Setting Records At The Plate

PHOENIX (CBS4) - Troy Tulowitzki who?

Rockies rookie shortstop Trevor Story is on fire at the plate to open the season. After hitting two home runs in his Major League debut on Opening Day, a record, he followed it up by hitting another homer on Tuesday to become the first player to follow a two-homer debut with a home run in the next game since 1889.

But then he did it again on Wednesday to become the first player is history to open his career by hitting four homers in three games.

Story currently leads the majors with his four home runs but don't expect him to continue to hit the long ball all season long. He's never hit more than 20 homers in a minor-league season.

But with the way Story is playing it might be really hard for Jose Reyes to win the starting job back when and if he returns to the team. Reyes is awaiting a decision from MLB Commissioner Rob Manfred on possible discipline over accusations of domestic abuse.

The overall record for most home runs to start a season is four, a stat four players share.
