Pioneers Hope Long Break Beneficial Before Frozen Four Matchup

DENVER (CBS4) - The Denver Pioneers want their hockey season to end on April 9 -- the NCAA championship game, but first things first -- the national semi-finals this Thursday against North Dakota.

The Frozen Four, like the Super Bowl, has almost two weeks of build-up .It's kind of a long break for a team that has been so hot since January.

"Some guys needed a week off to rest and get their bodies back (to) 100 percent," forward Quentin Shore said. "We're just looking forward to next week and this week is flying by so far and I'm sure the weekend will."

"We played them five times already this year, so I think we both know what to expect from them and go over a little video and kind of fine-tune what we need to do," forward Danton Heinen said. "The biggest thing is whoever executes their game plan best will be successful.
