Man Who Went On Crime Spree, Tried To Drown Dog Learns Sentence
LAFAYETTE, Colo. (CBS4) - A Lafayette man will spend 25 years in prison for a crime spree that included trying to drown a dog.
Frank Richard Duran, 30, was sentenced on Friday. He had pleaded guilty to robbery and arson charges.
In February 2015 police say Duran tried to drown a 5-pound Pomeranian named Cujo. A firefighter saved the dog. It happened apparently after Duran stole a car, threatened to kill a man's child and set a home on fire.
At the time deputies say Duran offered no explanation for the spree and only left one clue -- needles that could have been used to take drugs.
