Man Reported Missing Found Dead Inside Truck At Bottom Of Deer Creek Canyon
JEFFERSON COUNTY, Colo. (CBS4) - A man previously reported missing was found inside a pickup truck at the bottom of Deer Creek Canyon Saturday.
The 76-year-old male was reported missing on Tuesday by a neighbor. He lived further west up Deer Creek Canyon from the accident scene.
Deputies were following up on the report Saturday and slowly driving along the canyon road, when one spotted what appeared to be a tire sticking out of the snow. It was confirmed, and crews were called in for retrieval.
The driver was found deceased inside the overturned Dodge Ram truck. Authorities say the crash occurred prior to the recent snowstorms, as six inches of snow was piled on the vehicle.
The cause of the crash is under investigation, and there is no indication whether it was an accident or deliberate.
