Power Outage Affects RTD Lights, Crossing

AURORA, Colo. (CBS4) - A power outage affected several blocks in northern Aurora, including an RTD line, Thursday morning.

It began shortly before 7 a.m., and as of 9 a.m. 2400 Xcel customers were without power. The area affected is from the northern boundary of 47th Avenue to 17th Avenue on the south, and Pena Boulevard on the east to Fitzsimmons Drive on the west.

An RTD station at Smith Road and Chambers Road was stalled due to the outage, and a train was without lights. The power outage is also affecting railroad crossing arms.

There is no estimated time of a repair.

Drivers can take Airport Boulevard or I-225 as an alternative route.
