Family Of Man Murdered On Halloween Frustrated With Investigation

By Karen Morfitt

ADAMS COUNTY, Colo. (CBS4) - Months after their son was shot dead on Halloween night a Colorado family is pleading for answers.

Lucy and Leo Bueno's son Dillon was at their home handing out Halloween candy when he was killed.

"It's been terrible; you know I miss my son. It's hard," Leo said.

Dillon went to get something from his car, which was parked in the driveway, when three men wearing skeleton masks tried to rob him. Dillon refused to hand over his valuables and was shot.

"I tried CPR on him but found out later that he had died instantly," Lucy said.

Initially they say they were very hopeful that someone would be held responsible. Investigators released a description of possible suspects to the public at the time; three black men in their late teens to early 20s with slender builds, and considered armed and dangerous.

"They made it sound very promising," Lucy said.

But as time passed the leads and calls about the case have started to fade, leaving the family frustrated with the case and fearing the worst.

"The very first month they would stop by and check on us, but after that we haven't seen anybody around here," Leo said.

The family is now making their own plea to the public for help.

"Please come forward and help our family, help Dillon; he didn't deserve to die like that," his mother said.
