Traffic Dispute Ends In Stabbing In Adams County

ADAMS COUNTY, Colo. (CBS4) - Investigators in Adams County say a stabbing may have been sparked by a traffic incident that led to road rage.

Deputies rushed to the scene at 64th and Federal Boulevard just after 2 p.m. on Wednesday.

Upon arrival, one man was found with multiple stab wounds to his upper torso and rushed to the hospital.

A male passenger was seen getting out of a blue BMW and confronting the driver of a black pickup truck. That's when witnesses say he stabbed the pickup driver.

"I saw the truck lock up its brakes, I heard stuff hit the ground, so I figured he dropped stuff. I saw him get out and bend down to pick up a box," said witness Darryl Morris.

A blue BMW then pulled up behind that man while he was out of the truck.

"We don't know if there was an actual collision, or if it was hand gestures," said Sgt. Morgen with Adams County Sheriff's Office.

Investigators focused their attention on a pair of scissors found at the scene, though they cannot say if that was the weapon used to injure the victim.

Deputies told CBS4 the stabbing was not the result of an accident. They are searching for two Hispanic males who sped away from the scene in a blue BMW with temporary tags.

What happened leading up to the stabbing is being investigated. Deputies are interviewing witnesses.
