NASA Wants Colorado-Based Lockheed Martin To Bring Back Supersonic Jet Travel

LITTLETON, Colo. (CBS4) - NASA could bring back commercial supersonic jet travel.

The agency has awarded Colorado-based Lockheed Martin a $20 million contract to create a passenger jet that can fly faster than the speed of sound.

Commercial supersonic travel ended more than a decade ago when the Concorde was grounded.

NASA says the new jet will be safer, greener and quieter.
