Surveillance Photos Show Credit Card Theft Suspect With His Dog

BOULDER, Colo. (CBS4) - Police want the public to look at surveillance pictures they say show a man with his dog who has been stealing credit cards in Boulder.

The suspect has been racking up a lot of fraudulent charges -- an estimated $1,600.

The man was spotted with a German shepherd mix dog. Police say last month he stole a credit card from an unlocked home on Pleasant Street. Then a few days later he stole another card from woman's unzipped wallet while she shopped inside a Safeway on Arapahoe Road in Boulder.

He used the cards in Boulder, Broomfield, Lafayette and Westminster.

"You think like in store with the things well-lit and with people that something like that would not happen," Katie Chestler of Boulder said. "I'll probably now keep my eye out for suspicious things."

The suspect is described as a short white man in his 30s who has been spotted driving a silver sedan.

Anyone with information regarding the possible identity of the suspect is asked to call Detective Kara Wells at 303- 441-3482. Those who have information but wish to remain anonymous may contact the Northern Colorado Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-TIPS (8477). Tips may also be submitted through the Crime Stoppers website at crimeshurt.com. Those submitting tips through Crime Stoppers that lead to the arrest and filing of charges on a suspect(s) may be eligible for a cash reward of up to $1,000 from Crime Stoppers.
