Man Charged In Woman's Murder

DENVER (CBS4)- A man has been formally charged with killing a woman whose body was found in an apartment last weekend.

Jerimiah Halsey has been charged with one count of first-degree murder.

The charges from the Denver District Attorney's Office allege that Halsey met the victim, Sheryl Thompson, 53, and killed her following an altercation in her apartment in the 3400 block of Park Avenue on Feb. 21.

Halsey, 36, was arrested after he approached members of the Denver Fire Department and reported to them that he had hurt someone.

Helsey remains in custody without bond. He is expected to make his first court appearance next week.
