Broncos Fan Who Lost Wedding Ring At Game Gets Good News Thanks To CBS4

DENVER (CBS4) - A Broncos fan will be getting his wedding ring back after a friend saw a story on CBS4.

The ring slipped off Adam Green's hand while he was attending the AFC championship game when the Broncos beat the New England Patriots. Another couple found the ring but didn't know who the owner was. CBS4 reported on the saga and a friend saw it and alerted Green.

"It literally was like 'Lord of the Rings' when Frodo loses his ring and it was like in mid-air," Green said. "I saw it for a split second and then I forgot about it because we were winning the game, you know."

Even after enlisting the help of others during halftime Green and his wife figured it was gone for good. But now, from Dallas, Green talked to the man who found his wedding band -- Jim Swayze, who contacted CBS4 the week after the game. Although he lives in Dallas, Green is from Denver and a Broncos season ticket holder.

"I posted it online and a bunch of my friends were like, 'Yeah, I heard that news story, I can't believe it was you,'" Green said.

Green and his wife had only been married a few weeks, He blames losing the ring on a cold January day, and some aggressive cheering.

"It was cold weather; my fingers shrunk quite a bit actually," he said.

While he already has a replacement band, Green says he's thrilled to get the original back and is eternally grateful for the man responsible.

"You didn't have to do that; I just appreciate it very much, that was really cool," Green told Swayze.

Swayze is mailing the ring back to Green in Dallas. Green offered to share some of his season tickets with the Swayzes next season.
