Adams Makes 9 3s, Wyoming Beats Colorado State 84-66
FORT COLLINS, Colo. (AP) — Josh Adams made a career-high nine 3-pointers and scored 37 points to help Wyoming beat Colorado State 84-66 in the 225th Border War on Saturday.
Adams hit back-to-back 3-pointers to start the game as Wyoming jumped out to a 14-0 lead and never trailed. The Cowboys made 17 of 37 3-pointers and led by as many as 21 points in the second half.
Adams tied Wyoming's single-game record for makes from 3-point range. Maurice Alexander set the mark against New Mexico on Feb. 9, 1991.
Jason McManamen added 20 points for Wyoming (13-15, 6-9 Mountain West) and Jeremy Lieberman had 11. McManamen hit five 3-pointers and Lieberman sank three.
Wyoming had its largest margin of victory in Ft. Collins since 1981.
John Gillon led Colorado State (14-13, 6-8) with 17 points. Emmanuel Omogbo had 13, Tiel Daniels chipped in 12 and the duo each grabbed 11 rebounds as the Rams outrebounded Wyoming 45-31.
