Man Arrested, Claims He's The King Of Scotland
LONGMONT, Colo. (CBS4) - A man who was arrested last week in Longmont in a possible DUI case told police he has diplomatic immunity because he is the king of Scotland.
Nicholas James, 35, faces possible charges of DUI and drug possession in the the incident, which happened on Feb. 8. James allegedly was swerving when he driving down Main Street and when police tried to pull him over he didn't do so until a mile further down the road. Police said he had a knife and prescription drugs in his car.
Police in Longmont said James claims he should be referred to as the "Heir to the Throne of Scotland" and "King Solomon." He said he shouldn't be arrested due to his status.
James also allegedly refused a blood test and said his blood was "golden," according to the Times-Call in Longmont.
