6-Year-Old Killed In Apartment Of Alleged Sexual Assault Was Stabbed

AURORA, Colo. (CBS4) - The Arapahoe County coroner on Thursday ruled the death of a 6-year-old boy a homicide.

An autopsy revealed the 6-year-old, whose name hasn't been released, died from a stab wound. Deputies found his body inside an apartment Wednesday morning while responding to a report of a sex assault.

A woman called police saying her domestic partner assaulted her at knife-point. The boy's father, who the woman accused of the sexual assault, also stabbed himself and has been hospitalized. His condition isn't known.

The homicide took place inside the Westwood apartment building in the 7500 block of East Harvard Avenue, which is near the intersection of East Iliff Avenue and South Quebec Street.

So far there've been no arrests in the case.

An Arapahoe County deputy was critically injured in a crash while responding to the crime scene.
