Troopers Search For Driver Of Pickup That Ran Over Man Lying In Road

ADAMS COUNTY, Colo. (CBS4) - A man is dead after a possible hit-and-run in Adams County Monday evening.

Trooper Nate Reid with the Colorado State Patrol said that at approximately 7:30 p.m. a pickup driver ran over a man who was lying in the southbound lanes of Pecos Street just south of West 76th Avenue.

It's unclear why the person was in the road and investigators say it's possible the driver never saw the man.

"It is a possibility that the driver of the pickup never saw the male lying in the roadway as the pedestrian was wearing dark colored clothing at the time of the incident," Reid said in a statement.

The pedestrian was taken to Denver Health Medical Center where he died.

Troopers are searching for a full-sized brown pickup.
