Panthers-Broncos Second Quarter Update: Half Ends With Big Broncos Sack

SANTA CLARA, Calif. (CBS4) - The Broncos lead the Panthers 13-7 after one half of Super Bowl 50.

The half ended with a monster sack of Panthers quarterback Cam Newton by Broncos linebacker DeMarcus Ware. It was the fourth sack of Newton by the Broncos defense in the game.

Some of the highlights of the first half for the Broncos were:

- Broncos wide receiver and kick returner Jordan Norwood made history with the longest punt return in a Super Bowl.

- The Broncos scored a defensive touchdown in the first quarter.

- Broncos kicker Brandon McManus kicked two field goals, which ties the franchise record for most field goals in a game. Rich Karlis and Jason Elam have also kicked two field goals in a Super Bowl.

- Running back C.J. Anderson tied a franchise record for the longest Super Bowl run with a 34-yard run in the second quarter.
