Support Craft Brewers During The Super Bowl

DENVER (CBS4)- On Sunday craft brewers are urging Denver Broncos fans to enjoy their favorite craft beer during the Super Bowl.

Andy Sparhawk talked about how diverse the industry is in Denver and across Colorado on CBS4 Morning News on Saturday.

"You're going to want to root with your hometown craft beer. Denver has 60 craft breweries and in the state we're approaching 300. You have a lot of variety to find something that you like."

Sparhawk said it's not just about the beer.

"Craft beer offers something different than what is mass appeal. However it's not so much why craft beer but why craft brewer? They've turned this American beer culture on their head," said Sparhawk. "We should be supporting these small brewers."

Sparhawk says the craft brewers have put together an extensive menu that pairs Super Bowl favorites with beer.

"If you're looking for something to pair with wings, look for some more multi beers. Sweet calms heat so your pallet doesn't get wrecked instead of those hoppy beers that are just going to continue to blast your taste buds," said Sparhawk.
