Boys & Girls Club Family Chosen By Broncos To Attend Super Bowl

By Tom Mustin

DENVER (CBS4) - Three members of a Denver family will be heading to the Super Bowl thanks to the Broncos.

Eighteen-year-old BreAnna Ray and her 13-year-old brother Louis Ray were selected as the two Youth of the Year award winners by the Denver Broncos Boys & Girls Club.

"Oh my goodness, I almost fell over. I was so excited," Louis told CBS4's Tom Mustin.

"I'm expecting a lot of sun … can't wait for it," said BreAnna.

The award recognizes teens who have demonstrated leadership, academic excellence, and commitment to the club. The siblings were selected among hundreds of club members.

"They are such good reps of the Broncos, the Boys & Girls Club and the Denver community in the whole," said club director Rich Barrows.

Their prize is three Broncos jerseys and tickets for the whole family to the Super Bowl in Santa Clara, California, provided by the Denver Broncos. The club is part of the Boys & Girls Clubs of Metro Denver and partnered with the NFL team.

Louis is a high school freshman who volunteers at church and a senior center, and has some lofty goals.

"I want to go to the Air Force Academy," he said.

BreAnna wants to one day own her own restaurant. In California, though, she has some sightseeing to accomplish.

"I actually want to see the 'Full House' house, I heard it was filmed there. It was one of my favorite shows so I want to go see it," she said.

Both teens are huge Broncos fans, and enormously appreciative.

"Thank you to the Broncos. I'm just happy," said Louis.

Proud papa, 'big' Louis Ray, will be accompanying his kids to the big game.

"I've already cried three times. So exciting. So proud of them," he said.

And as for the game itself, big Louis says, it's in the bag.

"The Broncos no doubt. Defense wins championships. We got it."

Super Bowl 50 will be on CBS4 Sunday at 4:30 p.m.

The Boys & Girls Clubs of Metro Denver are taking on the Boys & Girls Clubs of Greater Charlotte in a fundraising challenge. The organization to raise the most money by midnight on Super Bowl Sunday will be declared the winner. Each organization has a goal of raising $25,000. The losing clubs will have to wear the winner's colors for a day.
