Denver's Mayor Betting On The Broncos For Super Bowl 50

DENVER (CBS4)- Denver's Mayor is betting on the Denver Broncos to take home the Lombardi trophy on Sunday.

Mayor Michael Hancock made a wager with the mayor of Charlotte, N.C. on Wednesday. Hancock and Jennifer Roberts shared a little banter before they came to terms.

"I want to congratulate you, only two months in and you've got a team in the Super Bowl," said Hancock to Roberts who officially took office two months ago.

The loser has to wear the winner's jersey and post pictures on social media for both Broncos and Carolina Panthers fans to see.

"We have a lovely Cam Newton jersey that's a beautiful color, sort of a teal blue," said Roberts. "I think it will look really good on you because it's a beautiful shade of blue."

"What I have heard is that I look great in orange, and I think you're going to look great in orange as well," said Hancock. "My prediction is that the Denver Broncos will win, it will be a tight one, with a score of 27-24 in Super Bowl 50 and when that happens I'll be proud to ship you a Peyton Manning jersey for you to wear."

Hancock also had a little advice for one specific player during Sunday's game.

"My good friend Demaryius-- step up. Every pass catch it and move!" said Hancock. "This is going to be an exciting game."
