Renewed Push For Traffic Light At Westminster Intersection Where New Father Was Killed

WESTMINSTER, Colo. (CBS4)- After a new father was killed in a traffic accident in Westminster last month there is more support for a traffic signal at 92nd and Ingalls.

Seth Grubb was killed Jan. 22 when his vehicle was struck by another and rolled.

Stefanie Godfrey had turned off the street just moments before the crash.

"He has a newborn son who was born in November. He was 23. He was going to school to make a better life," said Godfrey.

The other driver stayed on the scene. Medical staff from the urgent care clinic across the street tried to help but Grubb, who was not wearing a seat belt, died at the crash scene.

Traffic moves quickly around the intersection. There are traffic signals on other blocks near the intersection but not at 92nd and Ingalls.

Godfrey is one of several drivers who believe there needs to be another signal at that intersection. She said she's been involved in three accidents in that area.

"Kids who were driving too fast, took a turn too fast, flipped their vehicle and knocked out a transformer and all the power in our complex," said Godfrey.

Grubb's friends have set up a GoFundMe account to help his family and newborn.

Godfrey said she is fighting for a solution to the area to help all drivers avoid another crash. She plans to approach the city council about a new signal at next week's council meeting.
