Good Question: How Can I Get To The Super Bowl?

DENVER (CBS4) - They were wild in the stands. They were wild in the streets. They are wild about the idea of going to the Super Bowl.

Better have a pretty good bank account.

Fan Ortavio Griego will be going.

"You only get to see your team in the big show once maybe twice in a lifetime. For us, this is going to be my second time," said Griego.

Many of the Broncos players have visited his Monkey Fist Tattoo shop in Denver's Berkeley Neighborhood and he's a huge fan. Their pictures are on his wall.

"This is the time to do it, we've got Peyton Manning, our defense is healthy we're ready to rock n' roll."

The cost of going to the game and seeing the Broncos play is going to be high. It could be the most expensive ever.

"You know the Bay Area has a huge base of corporate and high tech technology companies that want to support the game, but we also know that the teams traveling in bring huge numbers so all of that trends to yes, the Super Bowl ticket pricing is probably one of the top levels we've seen in the Super Bowl," said Keith Bruce, CEO of the Super Bowl 50 host committee.

The game will be at the two year old Levi's Stadium, the home field of the San Francisco 49ers.

Tickets are a real challenge. The last time the Broncos went to the Super Bowl in Met Life Stadium in New Jersey in 2014, about 13 percent of the tickets went to the Broncos.

Broncos season ticket holders got very few. That means many fans will be forced into the secondary market.

The NFL and Ticketmaster now have a re-sale site which makes buying tickets safer than on unofficial sites.

Prices Monday morning after the AFC Championship range from just over $4000 in the nosebleeds to nearly $13,000 close to the 40 yard line.

Getting to the game, like anything involves planning.

"At this point prices are going to be much higher and availability is going to go very fast," said Jeanenne Tornatore, senior editor for Orbitz.com. "There are cheaper days to fly in. We're seeing that the least expensive day to fly in is early on Wednesday or on Saturday. The most expensive day to fly in at this point is going to be Thursday."

Hotels are going to be an interesting dilemma. You can try to stay close to the Broncos, who will be at the Marriott in Santa Clara. The team will practice at John Elway's alma matter, Stanford.

"Or do you want to be in the city and celebrate a lot of the activities going on in the city and then make your way on down South on game day?" said Bruce.

There's so much going on in San Francisco, hotel prices are higher.

"In fact we've been seeing hotels in San Francisco proper have been much more expensive than closer to the stadium. In San Francisco to this point we've seen hotels that are averaging $430 a night," said Tornatore.

The Fan Village and the NFL Experience will both be in San Francisco.

"Everything the Bay area is known for, our technology, our food and our wine our thriving arts culture, our music, everything that people love about the Bay Area will be on full display and of course, football," said Bruce.

Some people are leaving all the organizing to the pros. At Inspirato in Denver's LoDo neighborhood, they expect sales to be brisk now that the AFC Championship is in the books. Inspirato is a member-based travel service.

"You pay an initiation fee and then annual fees and then you travel anywhere in our portfolio," said Brian Corbett, "Chief Experience Officer" for Inspirato. "We've sold out every single year and I don't expect this year to be an exception."

Their package includes a private party at a restaurant they bought out Friday night, concierges who will go along to assist you and admission to some of the events.

"We actually have access to several private parties that members can choose from."

Corbett said you can even upgrade.

"This particular package is north of $10,000 and then what we do is include tickets, base level tickets for the game, but you can upgrade those to whatever limit you want and really the sky's the limit in terms of tickets and availability."

Griego thinks he has an in for tickets and he's making plans as a veteran of the Broncos last Super Bowl appearance in 2014 (we don't like to talk about that.)

He just has to break it to some of his customers that he'll be gone.

"It's going to be a great environment, it's going to be the greatest show on earth."
