DIA Welcomes Patriots To Broncos Country
DENVER (CBS4)- It's not the welcome mat the New England Patriots probably expect when they arrive in Denver for the AFC Championship Game. But then again, Denver International Airport workers were just having fun.
It looks like there is a big number 18 painted on the number eight runway at DIA. The airport tweeted the pictures of the display of pride for Peyton Manning.
DIA took it to a visual level when they boasted about the Broncos being the number one team in the AFC and put their quarterback in the same category.
DIA spokesman Heath Montgomery said the markings weren't made, because that would mess up all the pilots looking for runway eight, but show that DIA is getting into the Broncos spirit.
Too bad the Patriots and Tom Brady are flying into Denver on a private jet because they won't hear Broncos wide receiver Demaryius Thomas' welcome message on the terminal train.
