"The charge alleges that on Jan. 1, Johnson stabbed the victim, 50-year-old Teodoro Leon in an alley near 10th Avenue and Acoma Street," Kimbrough said in a statement.

Kimbrough said Teodoro's body was found later in the morning by police responding to a call about a man down.

"Johnson was later identified as a suspect and arrested," Kimbrough said.

Johnson remains in custody where he is being held without bond. His next court day has not yet been set.
