Pittsburgh Family Loves Broncos In Hostile Territory

CANONSBURG, Penn. (CBS4) - It's not hard to love the Broncos, even if you live in the heart of Steeler country.

The Rossi family proved that fact this week when they were interviewed by CBS4 partner KDKA-TV. The Rossis bleed blue & orange despite the fact they've got a Pittsburgh-area zip code.

"They have their Steelers stuff and we have our Broncos stuff and we go about our business," Brandy Rossi said of her neighbors. "It's peaceful."

And the Rossis really love the Denver Broncos. They've got a Broncos flag flapping in the wind outside their home, a Broncos-decorated mailbox, a license plate with John Elway's No. 7 on it and what a den! It's packed full of tributes to John Elway and the Broncos dual Super Bowl wins.

But why?

"At a very young age, I loved football. My favorite color was orange, and I asked my parents for an orange football jersey. And since I was born on the 7th, my first jersey was a Bronco Orange number seven," said Dave Rossi, who wound up converting his wife, and his kids followed suit.

This Sunday's playoff game between the Steelers and the Broncos should be interesting in the Rossis' neighborhood. Brian Glivic, their neighbor across the street, always hangs up a big banner that says YOU'RE IN STEELERS COUNTRY when the two teams meet.

"Most of the neighborhood thinks (Brian) has some issues," said Glivic with a laugh.
