Wear Your Jersey, Support The Broncos During Orange Friday

DENVER (CBS4)- Denver Mayor Michael Hancock declared Jan. 15 Orange Friday to support the Denver Broncos as they take on the Pittsburgh Steelers in the AFC Divisional Playoff on Sunday.

Broncos fans in Denver and across Colorado, anywhere in the world, are encouraged to wear orange on Friday in advance of the team's game against the Steelers at Sports Authority Field at Mile High.

On Wednesday, Hancock also announced other ways fans can cheer on the Broncos.

"Here in Denver, we love our Broncos, and we show it with great pride every day of the year!" Mayor Hancock said in a statement. " So break out your jeans and jerseys because its playoff time and Denver goes all out for our team to show the world that this is Broncos Country."

Hancock will celebrate Orange Friday by renaming Bannock Street to Broncos Boulevard.

Fans will notice some other changes around the city to support the Broncos as released by the Mayor's office:

  • Denver City and County Building, Sports Authority Field at Mile High, Denver's Union Station, Elitch Gardens tower and ferris wheel, Daniels and Fisher tower, Millennium Bridge, Four Seasons hotel needle, Children's Hospital Colorado and Three Empower Retirement towers at I-25 and Orchard Rd. will be lit in Broncos orange
  • Broncos Country Playoff signage hung at Denver International Airport
  • Broncos wide receiver Demaryius Thomas greeting DIA passengers with a Broncos message on the train
  • DIA welcome sign will be lit in Broncos orange
  • Broncos Country Playoffs billboards
  • Playoff banners installed at Sports Authority at Mile High
  • Broncos Country Playoffs street banners hung down Speer Blvd. and throughout the Golden Triangle, LoDo, Cherry Creek, Stapleton, Auraria and Downtown neighborhoods
  • LED signs along 14th & 16th streets downtown displaying playoff messages
