'Fifty Shades' Star Makes Joke After Wardrobe Malfunction At People's Choice Awards
LOS ANGELES (CBS4) - The star of the hit film "Fifty Shades of Grey" suffered a wardrobe malfunction during Wednesday night's People's Choice Awards, but managed to get some good laughs out of it.
The fan-voted awards show, which aired Wednesday night on CBS, took place in Los Angeles at the Microsoft Theater.
Dakota Johnson accepted the award for Favorite Dramatic Movie Actress, and when she came onstage actress Leslie Mann congratulated her with a hug but somehow slightly unhinged her dress.
Mann helped Johnson out by holding things together on her back, but Johnson, who was embarrassed at first, was able to recover and make a joke out of the situation.
"Leslie just broke my dress. Okay, so, well, it's not like nobody here hasn't already seen my boobs," she said, a reference to the R-rated movie she starred in, which features plenty of nudity.
Wednesday night's ceremony hosted was hosted by Jane Lynch, and "Furious 7" was named favorite movie. "The Big Bang Theory" won top TV show, and Ellen DeGeneres set a record.
She received a humanitarian award, as well as the trophy for favorite daytime TV host, bringing her total People's Choice wins to a record-tying 17.
