Man Arrested, Suspected Of Beating Woman With Hammer

LOVELAND, Colo. (CBS4)- Police in Loveland arrested a man who is accused of beating a female family member with a hammer several times.

Officers rushed to a home in the 1100 block of E. Third Street about 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday. When they arrived they determined that Daniel Stephen Adams, a resident of the home, attacked a female family member who was also a resident of the home.

Police say Adams, 37, hit the female with a hammer several times, including on her head. She told officers she was able to calm him down and called police.

Adams was arrested and taken to the Larimer County Jail where he remains in custody on attempted murder in the first degree, assault and crime against an at-risk adult.

The female was taken for medical treatment.

Police have not released the relationship between the victim and suspect.
