Air Quality Action Day Issued In Metro Area

DENVER (CBS4) - Air pollution on Monday and Tuesday has prompted the Department of Public Health and Environment to issue an air quality action day for the Denver-Boulder metro area.

People with heart or lung disease, older adults, and children should reduce prolonged or heavy exertion on Tuesday, according to the CDPHE. North of the Palmer Divide, it is suggested for unusually sensitive people.

In addition, indoor burning restrictions and requests to limit driving have been put into effect until 4 p.m. Tuesday.

Poor visibility was apparent Monday, and it is expected to be moderate to poor on Tuesday.
