1 Injured In Aurora Shooting After Driver Shot In The Head

AURORA, Colo. (CBS4)- Police in Aurora rushed to Iliff and Troy on reports of a car crash on Tuesday morning that happened after one of the drivers what shot.

When officers arrived just before 11 a.m. Tuesday they found two vehicles in the intersection of East Iliff Avenue and South Troy Street that had collided.

Officers found one of the drivers had been shot in the head. He was rushed to the hospital with life-threatening injuries. The driver of the second vehicle was not hurt.

Both Iliff and Troy were closed during the investigation.

It is unclear who police are looking for in relation to the shooting.

Officers worked to investigate what happened leading up to the shooting.

"Investigators from our major crimes homicide unit are on the scene, they've begun their investigation, they're interviewing witnesses and looking at the evidence at the scene to determine exactly what happened," said Aurora Police Sgt. Chris Amsler.
