Apparent Police Impersonator Robs Man In Evans

EVANS, Colo. (CBS4) - Police in the Evans are warning about an apparent police impersonator.

The victim says a man posing as a police officer pulled him over, took his wallet and then sped off.

The incident happened at 11th Avenue and Pleasant Acres Drive on Sunday.

The victim says the man was in a dark-colored SUV with emergency lights in the dash or grill. The vehicle also had a spotlight.

"Because of the spotlight used, the victim was unable to get any type of description of the suspect other than a male voice," police said in a statement. "It is unknown at this time if there was more than one occupant in the vehicle or if there were weapons involved in this incident."
