St. Joe's Hospital Celebrates 1st Year In New Facility

DENVER (CBS4)- It was one year ago that St. Joseph Hospital moved into its new facility to improve patient care in the Denver metro area.

"It's a been a great year, a lot of exciting things are happening," said St. Joseph Hospital COO Barb Jahn. "We're expected to deliver about 4,400 babies, remaining the top baby hospital in Colorado."

The new building has changed things for St. Joe's which has been serving patients in the Denver metro area for more than 140 years.

"We like to say the new building brings a lot of wonderful technology, which it has, but the rooms have been set up so wonderfully for our patients, they are all single, private rooms but they all have a place for families to stay which really allows families and our patients to stay together," said Jahn.

"An unknown fact about us is the top one percent of heart hospitals in the country with over 580 heart surgeries done this year," said Jahn.

To celebrate, St. Joe's Hospital is teaming up with all the babies born at the hospital who are celebrating one year birthdays with Denver's biggest 1st birthday card. People are encouraged to upload their birthday photos to the site.
